Cuban Chains

10mm Moissanite Cuban Chain

Price range: $675.00 through $845.00

10mm is where a Cuban stops being jewellery and starts being the first thing people notice. The link face is wide enough to read as a solid band of stone at conversational distance, and the weight is obvious in the hand without being a burden to wear.

Specifications

  • Fully paved D colour VVS moissanite
  • Solid 925 sterling silver
  • Rhodium or 14k gold plated
  • 10mm width
  • Lengths 18in, 20in, 22in and 24in
  • GRA certificate included

Choosing a length

A 10mm needs room. 18in sits high and tight, which works if you wear it alone with an open collar. 20in and 22in are the safe picks and account for most orders. 24in lets it sit over a shirt where the full width stays visible.

About moissanite

Moissanite is less a diamond substitute than its own stone. It disperses more light than diamond does, so a face this wide flashes colour rather than just white as it moves.

Moissanite, answered

Is moissanite a real gemstone?

Yes. Moissanite is silicon carbide (SiC), a distinct mineral first discovered in the Canyon Diablo meteor crater in Arizona in 1893. It is not a diamond simulant and not a substitute — it is its own stone, with its own hardness and its own optical behaviour.

Will moissanite pass a diamond tester?

Most common diamond testers read thermal conductivity, and moissanite registers as diamond on those. Testers that also measure electrical conductivity will correctly identify it as moissanite. We are upfront about what our stones are: silicon carbide, not diamond.

How durable is moissanite for everyday wear?

Moissanite scores 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, second only to diamond at 10. That puts it well above the stones used in most fashion jewelry and makes it suitable for daily wear, including chains and bracelets that take knocks.

Does moissanite look different from a diamond?

It has more fire. Moissanite has a refractive index of 2.65 against a diamond at 2.42, so it throws noticeably more rainbow flashes in direct light. Some people prefer that look — it is the reason we build with it rather than around it.

What are the shipping, return and warranty terms?

US orders ship free and every order is tracked door to door. If a piece is not right you have 30 days from delivery to return it, and every Amison piece carries a 12-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
